Leanne
Tobias
is founder and principal of Malachite LLC, a new venture that promotes sustainable
or green real estate investment. Leanne has spoken on green real estate investment
for the United Nations, the U.S. Green Building Council, the Urban Land Institute
and others, and is a principal author of ULIs authoritative Green Office
Buildings: A Practical Guide to Development. Leanne was previously Managing
Director of the Multi-Employer Property Trust, a $3.2 billion commercial real
estate equity fund. She headed the real estate operations of the AFL-CIO Building
Investment Trust and directed programs for capital markets and institutional
lenders at the Mortgage Bankers Association. She also has consulted on real
estate finance issues for the U.S. Treasury Department, the U.S. Department
of Housing and Urban Development, the City of New York and private clients.
Leanne holds an MBA from Wharton Business School and a Masters of Public
Affairs degree from the Woodrow Wilson School at Princeton University.
